Congratulations Starlin Castro

Just like his first name says; Starlin, you’re a star.  Congratulations!   He’s 21 years old and the first Chicago Cubs shortstop since Shawon Dunston to play in the summer classic on July 12th

Castro is batting .309 this year and is second in hits with 108.

There was some talk that Alfonso Soriano would represent the Cubs in the All Star Game but I’m really excited about Starlin Castro making it to the team.  He deserves it and I hate saying that because every player who plays in the game is deserving of representing their respective team, but Starlin Castro has played extremely well since being called up May 2010.  He hit a home run in his first game.  maybe that was an omen of his future Hall of Fame career?

We make a few trips a year to Watertown New York to do some shopping and stuff and that’s where I get my baseball fix.  I check out the card shops and merchandise places to see if they have anything related to Cubs collectibles.  I went into one shop and asked if they have a Starlin Castro rookie card and walked out of the store paying 5 bucks for it.

As Mr. Cub puts it,” He’s better than me.”

Can’t get a much better compliment than that.  Well done Starlin!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!

Starlin is certainly more than a token player and I’m looking forward to seeing him on the national stage next week.

I love Starlin and look forward to watching his career as a Cub. I thought Ramirez should have made it. His stats are better than Polanco and Chipper, but he started the season too slow. I look forward to the AllStar game next week. I am also going to be in Denver on the 14th and have tickets to the Rockies/Brewers game. I plan on wearing a Sandberg or Dawson jersey to the game.
